Stephen Mckeown topped off a very successful racing campain this year at Bishopscourt last weekend at the David Wood Memorial Trophy Races. He took three podium finishes including a race win to clinch both the Moto 400 and Ulster Lightweight titles on his Mckillop Motorcycles Kawasaki. Having already had some great results racing on the roads this year, he can now relax for the last few races knowing he has won both of these Short Circuit titles also. Although he only has fifty point lead, which could be reigned in at the last two races, he has won the most races this season which would make him champion.
It was regretful that newcomer Gareth Morrell was unable to race last weekend due to injury, as he was leading the Moto 400 table up until then, and had made for some great last few races to look forward to as himself and Mckeown battled it out for the title.
Kris Ducan took three race wins setting up a two way dice between himself and Damien Horgan for the championship runner up spot with now only eight points between them going into the last round next month at St. Angelos.
